欧米では2002年末に発売となり，数々の賞を総なめにしたRPG「ネヴァーウィンター・ナイツ」（原題：Neverwinter Nights）は，TRPG「ダンジョンズ＆ドラゴンズ」第三版をベースにしたファンタジーRPGだ。本作には同社の「バルダーズゲート」シリーズに勝るとも劣らない壮大なシナリオ，最大64人までのマルチプレイのサポート，シナリオエディタの搭載など，魅力的な要素が多い。だが，プレイには英語力が必要であったことから，泣く泣く英語版でのプレイをあきらめた人も多いことだろう。
　以前からセガがローカライズを進めていることはお知らせしていたが，ゲームで使用されているメッセージが100万ワードにも及ぶため，ローカライズに少々苦戦していたようである。だが，もう安心だ。本日セガから「ネヴァーウィンター・ナイツ日本語版」を2003年3月20日に9800円で販売するとの公式発表が行われた（実は以前Upした発売日決定のNewsをいったん削除したのは，セガから「発売日を早めるかも」という話を聞いたからだ）。
　同時に限定版として「ネヴァーウィンター・ナイツ日本語版コンプリートエディション」（以前「こちら」で紹介した「Collector's Edition」と同等のもの）も1万3800円でリリースするとのことだ。こちらは2000本限定で豪華おまけが満載のパッケージ。セット内容については以下のとおりである。（Murayama）
