　2009年に発売された「Borderlands」は，スキルアップやアイテム収集といったRPG要素とFPSが融合したハイブリッド型のゲームだ。同じ性能のものを見ることがないと言われるほどバリエーション豊かな武器と，アメコミ調のグラフィックスが特徴となっている。
　その続編となる「Borderlands 2」は，前作と同様に惑星パンドラが舞台となっているが，冒険できるフィールドは大幅に広がっている。プレイヤーは，エイリアンの残した未知のテクノロジーを探し求め，荒くれ者やクリーチャーなどと戦いながら成長していくことになる。
