「シャンティ」シリーズ全作がPS5に登場。ゲームボーイカラー用だった初代はPS4向けにもリリース

　WayForward Technologiesは本日（2021年6月15日），PS5版の「Shantae」「Shantae: Risky's Revenge」「Shantae and the Pirate's Curse」「Shantae: Half-Genie Hero」「Shantae and the Seven Sirens」を数か月以内にリリースすると海外向けに発表した。日本向けの展開は不明。

　初代「Shantae」はPS4版も発売を予定しているとのこと。いずれもダウンロード販売タイトルだが，Limited Run GamesではPS5向けの5タイトルおよびPS4向け「Shantae」のパッケージ版が数量限定で発売される。

　これらの発表にあわせ，Twitterでは初代「Shantae」のアートコンテストが開催されている。このコンテストでは，ビジュアル，コスプレ，音楽など，あらゆるジャンルのアートが初代「Shantae」に基づく限り対象となっており（ただし他社IPを含むものは失格となる），作品とハッシュタグ「#ShantaeArt19」を含むTweetをつぶやくことで応募できる。WayFowardによって3人の受賞者が選出され，それぞれにNintendo Switch向けパッケージ版「Shantae」（うち1つにはディレクター・Matt Bozon氏のサイン入り）が贈られるとのことだ。締切は太平洋時間6月16日11：59。

　初代「Shantae」は，2001年にカプコンの北米法人から発売されたゲームボーイカラー用ソフトだ。ゲームボーイアドバンス発売後のリリースとなるなどの悪影響によりセールスは振るわなかったが，クオリティの高さで好評を得て，2013年7月にはニンテンドー3DS向けバーチャルコンソール版，2021年4月にはNintendo Switch移植版が発売された（いずれも日本では未発売）。
