EQ世界を舞台としたカードゲーム「Legends of Norrath：Oathbound」，9月6日より正式サービス開始

　Sony Online Entertainmentは，MMORPG「EverQuest」および「EverQuest II」のプレイヤーを対象としたオンラインカードゲーム「Legends of Norrath：Oathbound」（以下LoN）の正式サービスを9月6日より開始する。

　これは，EverQuestシリーズの舞台であるNorrathの世界観をもとにしたカードゲームで，EQおよびEQ2のゲーム内から起動される。1ゲームあたりの所要時間は，10分から20分程度と比較的手軽なゲーム内ゲームに仕上がっているようだ。

　サービス開始時点では，トータルセットの枚数で全375枚以上が用意され，スターターパック（55枚組）とブースターパック（15枚）およびEQ/EQ2のゲーム内で入手できるLoN用のカードLootカードを駆使して戦っていくものとなる。EQ2 PLAYERS日本語版ページでは，EQ2ゲーム内で入手できるLootカードの例が紹介されている。

　このゲームは，EQおよびEQ2のゲーム内ゲームとして実装され，カードや報酬などが両ゲームに深く結びついているものの，両ゲームのプレイヤーでなくても利用できるように，SOEではスタンドアロン版の公開も予定しているようだ。

　また，「EverQuest II」では，9月半ばにゲームアップデート38が実装される。このアップデートでは，Bristlebaneの帰還，アンレストの永続化，両刀武器の廃止などが行われる予定だ。
　さらに，「見た目タブ」がインベントリに追加され，装備している鎧とは別に，見た目だけを変更する装備を持てるようになる。これは，「Perfect World -完美世界-」のファッション装備や「飛天オンライン」が実装している仮装スロットと同等の機能で，キャラクターの見た目だけを変更するものだ。
　よもや，EQ2にメイド服やバニーガールの衣装が登場することはないと思うのだが，EQシリーズで装備の見た目と性能に悩んだことがある人は，隔日の感を抱くのではないだろうか。
　GU38の実装を待ちつつ，カードゲームを楽しんでみるのもよいかもしれない。（aueki）
