イタリアのゲームアワード，Italian Video Game Awards 2022の受賞作が発表。ベストゲームに選ばれたのは，Milestoneの「Hot Wheels Unleashed」

　イタリアのゲーム業界団体であるItalian Interactive Digital Entertainment Associationは現地時間の2022年7月5日，Italian Video Game Awards 2022の受賞式を開催し，受賞作品を発表した。

ITALIAN VIDEO GAME AWARDS

　公式サイトによれば，Italian Video Game Awardsは，それまでの1年間に発売されたイタリア生まれのゲームタイトルを顕彰するもので，今年で10回めを迎えるという。ゲーム開発者やインフルエンサー，ゲームメディア関係者など，イタリア人に限らない国際的なパネルが作品の審査にあたっており，国内では最も権威ある賞だとされている。


　大賞に相当するBest Italian Gameに選ばれたのは，ミラノに本拠を置くデベロッパ，Milestoneが2021年9月にリリースした「Hot Wheels Unleashed」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch）で，ダイキャストのミニカー「Hot Wheels」（ホットウィール）をモチーフにしたレースゲームだ。2021年12月23日に掲載した記事でお伝えしたように，発売から約3か月で世界累計販売数が100万本を突破したことが発表された。


　パヴィーアのインディーズゲームデベロッパ，Cordens Interactiveのデビュー作「Vesper: Zero Light Edition」にはBest Italian Debutが，また，フィレンツェのLKAが開発した幻想的なサイコロジカルホラー「Martha Is Dead」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One）には，Best Innovationがそれぞれ贈られ，さらに，Outstanding Italian Companyとしては，フランスのパブリッシャNaconのミラノスタジオが，ゲーム業界に貢献した個人に与えられるOutstanding Individual Contributionには，1980年代のゲーム黎明期から活躍を続けるイヴァン・ヴェントゥーリ（Ivan Venturi ）氏が選ばれた。


　イタリアのゲーム市場規模はイギリス，ドイツ，フランスと比べて最も小さく，国際的な評価を得たデベロッパも多くはない。日本人ゲーマーにとってなじみが薄いかもしれないが，最近は国内にいくつものスタートアップのゲームスタジオが立ち上がるなど，官民挙げたゲーム新興が見られるとのこと。イタリア外務省がスマートフォンアプリ「不思議の国 イタリア」（iOS / Android）を公開するなど，政府も積極的であるようだ（関連記事）。ノミネートタイトルなど，詳しくはItalian Video Game Awards 2022の公式サイトをチェックしてほしい。
