発売が近づくリメイク版「Alone in the Dark」の最新トレイラー公開。演じた2人の俳優が主人公のキャラクターを語る

　THQ Nordicは，2024年3月20日の発売が予定されている「Alone in the Dark」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S）の最新トレイラーを公開した。

　スウェーデンのPieces Interactiveが開発を進める「Alone in the Dark」は，フランスのInfogramesが1992年にリリースした同名タイトルのリメイク版だ。オリジナルは，3Dモデルでキャラクターやオブジェクトが表現されており，カメラは固定だったが，初の3D作品などと呼ばれて話題を集めた。
　その後，いくつかのシリーズ作品がリリースされたが，設定を大きく変えてTPSになったリブート作品「Alone in the Dark」（2008年）や，Co-opに対応した「Alone in the Dark: Illumination」（2015年）といった作品はあまり高い評価を得られず，IPの復活をかけて制作されているのが本作だ。

　オリジナル版と同様，主人公となるのはエミリー・ハートウッド（Emily Hartwood）と私立探偵のエドワード・カーンビー（Edward Carnby）で，エミリーの叔父であるジェレミー・ハートウッド（Jeremy Hartwood）失踪の謎を追って，不気味な屋敷デルセト邸（Derceto Manor）に赴き，クトゥルフ神話をモチーフにした恐怖の体験をするという物語が展開する。


　公開されたトレイラーは，エミリーを演じる女優のジョディー・カマー（Jodie Comer）さんと，カーンビー役のデヴィッド・ハーバー（David Harbour）さんが，ゲームに登場するキャラクターの魅力を語るというもので，幽霊屋敷に囚われた2人が，次第に狂気に陥っていく様子を垣間見ることができる。本作では，最初にエミリーとカーンビー，どちらでプレイするかを選択でき，選択したキャラクターによって物語の進み方が微妙に変化するとのこと。本作に期待している人は，ぜひ視聴してほしい。
