Milestone，ラリーゲームシリーズの最新作「WRC 3」を2012年10月に発売。新開発のゲームエンジンでグラフィックスが大幅に向上

　イタリアのゲームメーカーであるMilestoneは，FIA（国際自動車連盟）公認のラリーレーゲームシリーズ最新作「WRC 3」を2012年10月に発売することを明らかにした。対応機種としては，PCおよびPlayStation 3，Xbox 360，そしてPlayStation Vitaが予定されており，パブリッシングは前作同様，イタリアのBlack Bean Gamesが担当する。


　世界ラリー選手権の2012年シーズンのデータが用意される本作には，WRCに出場する50チームが実名で登場。従来作同様，スペシャルステージだけでなく，スーパースペシャルステージも実装されるとのことだ。
　また本作では，独自開発したゲームエンジン「Spikengine」がかなりの威力を発揮しそうで，公開されたスクリーンショットにはディテール豊かなコースの姿が収められている。Spikengineは，埃や雲などもリアルに表現できるだけでなく，緻密なモデリングや操作性も実現できるとのことで，ビギナーから熟練ラリーストまでを納得させてくれるタイトルになりそうだ。


　日本では，2012年2月に「WRC 2 FIA World Rally Championship」が発売されているので，このWRC 3の日本での発売にも期待が高まるところ。プレイの詳細は未発表だが，ラリーファンにとっては嬉しいニュースだ。
