さくらインターネット，双日と資本提携に向けた協議を開始

　さくらインターネットは本日（12月27日），総合商社である双日との資本提携に向けて具体的な条件の協議を行う，基本合意書の締結を発表した。これは，資本増強を図り，オンラインゲーム事業の不振などによる債務超過状態を早期に解消するのが目的とのこと。

　これに基づき，さくらインターネットは，2008年3月期中に双日を割当先とする第三者割当増資を行う予定だ。発行予定株数は，第三者割当後の総発行株式数の4分の1から3分の1としているが，詳細は両社協議のうえ決定される。

　「ダンジョンズ＆ドラゴンズオンライン：ストームリーチ」と「ロード・オブ・ザ・リングス・オンラインアングマールの影」の運営が引き続き行われることは明言されているので，必要以上に敏感にならくてもいいだろうが，プレイヤーは，新たな活動資金を得て体制が整えられるさくらインターネットの，今後のLotRO/DDO運営に注目しておこう。
