MumboJumbo，「SiN Episodes」の開発元Ritualを買収
カジュアルゲームの開発などを行っているMumboJumboは，Ritual Entertainmentを買収したと発表した。
MumboJumboはアメリカのテキサスに本拠を構え，パズルゲームなどの開発/販売をしている会社だ。
そして，Ritual Entertainmentといえば，Sourceエンジンベースの「SiN Episodes: Emergence」や「Counter-Strike: Condition Zero」などを開発した会社として，日本でも知られている。
MumboJumboでは今回の買収により，Ritual Entertainmentの高い開発技術を取り入れた，よりクオリティの高いカジュアルゲームをメジャーなプラットフォーム向けに展開していくとしている。
以前「奥谷海人のAccess Accepted」の第107回でお伝えしたように，Ritual Entertainmentの資金繰りが悪化していたことを考えると，この買収は避けられなかったのかもしれない。MumboJumboは，Ritual EntertainmentのゲームをPC以外のプラットフォームに展開していくことを示唆しているが，PCゲーマーとしては，（非カジュアルゲームを含む）PC向けゲームのリリースが減らないことを祈りたいところだ。（朝倉哲也）
