THQ Nordic傘下のHandyGamesは，Cliffhanger Productionsが手がけた新作ターン制ストラテジー「Jagged Alliance: Rage!」（PC / PlayStation 4 / Xbox One）を，本日（2018年12月7日）発売した。Steamストアページ（関連リンク）によれば，PC版はインタフェースと字幕が日本語対応。通常価格は2050円だが，12月14日までは10％オフの1845円（共に税込）で入手可能だ。
なお本日は，そのローンチトレイラーも公開されている。
「Jagged Alliance」は，なんと1995年から続く，とくにPCゲーマーの間では伝統のシリーズだ。「XCOM」シリーズや，最近では「Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun」（PC / PS4 / Xbox One / Mac）などで採用されている，複数のキャラクターをマップの異なる地点に投入して，チェスの駒のように1人ずつ行動させていくシステムのゲームである。
オリジナル作品から20年後の世界を舞台とした今作のストーリーは，麻薬王とその軍隊が支配する南国の島へ潜入する傭兵の一団を描いたものだ。タンク系の元ロシア軍人・Ivan Dolvich，レンジャー部隊出身のアメリカ人である“シャドウ”ことKyle Simmons，重火器を専門にした“グランティ”ことHelmut Grunther，そしてスパイナーの“レイヴン”ことCharlene Higginsら，シリーズではお馴染み国際傭兵組織A.I.M.（Association of International Mercenaries）のメンバー達がフィーチャーされているのもポイント。プレイヤーは，キャラクターの持ち味を生かし，敵を倒して進んでいくのだ。
