【Mac】歴史ストラテジー「Civilization IV」，マスターアップ
Aspyr Mediaによると，ターン制ストラテジーの傑作シリーズ第4作「Sid Meier's Civilization IV」のMacintosh版が完成したとのことだ。すでに製品版ディスクの製造が行われており，北米地域では6月26日に出荷が開始される。
本作は，数々のシミュレーションを生み出したシド・マイヤー氏が率いるFiraxis Gamesのタイトルで，6000年にも及ぶ文明の興亡をテーマとするゲームだ。プレイヤーはいずれかの文明を選択し，ほかの文明との駆け引きを行いつつ，自分の文明を発展させていく。グラフィックスは完全3Dとなり，前作までと比較して大幅にグレードアップしている。
Windows版の発売以来，高い評価を受けている本作をMacでプレイできるのは嬉しい限り。ストラテジーが好きな人ならぜひとも注目してほしい。
ちなみに6月17日には，Windows用の完全日本語版がリリースされている。Mac版の日本語化にも期待したいところだ。（山）
