「LotRO」海外公式サイトでDX10のスクリーンショットコンテスト開催

　指輪物語の世界を冒険するMMORPG，「The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar」（邦題 ロード・オブ・ザ・リングス・オンライン アングマールの影）の海外公式サイトで，「the LOTRO DirectX 10 Screenshot Contest」と題したスクリーンショットコンテストの開催が発表された。

　本作の英語版は，先月（10月）実装されたアップデート「Book 11: Defenders of Eriador」（関連記事）により，DirectX 10による画面描画に対応した。
　今回のスクリーンショットコンテストは，DirectX 10によって実現可能となったさまざまなエフェクトが利用された画面写真を募り，優れた作品を選ぶというものだ。

　なお先日お伝えしたように，日本語版では，Book 11アップデートの実装は2007年12月13日に予定されている。

　また，本作のヨーロッパ地域でのパブリッシングを担当するCodemastersは，Book 11で実装されるハウジングシステムを紹介するムービーを公開した。
　このムービーには，ホビットの住む家らしい背の低いずんぐりしたものから，ギルドハウスのような大型の一軒家まで，さまざまなタイプの家の様子が収録されている。室内を装飾するシーンや，コンテナからアイテムを移動するシーンなども確認できる。
