【Mac】RTS人気作「Age of Empires III」のMacintosh版が発表に

　MacSoftは，「Microsoft Age of Empires III」（邦題 マイクロソフト エイジ オブ エンパイア III）のMacintosh版を発表した。北米地域での発売時期は，2006年9月中の予定。
　本作は，ヒストリカルRTSの人気シリーズ第3作で，15世紀から19世紀のアメリカ大陸をめぐる，ヨーロッパ各国の抗争が描かれている。
　動作環境の詳細は公開されていないが，Universal Binary形式のアプリケーションとして出荷されるとのことで，Intel Mac上でネイティブに動作する。

　ちなみに，発売時期が迫ってから新作を発表するのが，近年のMacSoftの傾向。新作発表から発売まで，かなりの間待たされることの多いMacゲーマーにとって，AoEシリーズの最新作が（英語版とはいえ）あと1か月半ほどでプレイできることは，とても喜ばしいことだ。（山）
