GTAシリーズに続くプレオーダー数を獲得した「Borderlands 2」が，ゴア表現を調節する機能を実装

　Take-Two Interactiveが行った株主向けの業績報告会において，「Grand Theft Auto」シリーズに続くTake-Two史上3番目の予約本数を獲得したと発表された「Borderlands 2」（PC/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360）だが，このたび，ゴア表現を調節する機能が実装されることが明らかになった。

　前作「Borderlands」は，多くの地域で18歳以下のゲーマーが購入ができないタイトルに指定され，とくに暴力表現に厳しいドイツ，オーストラリア，イギリスなどでは，特定のイベントやムービーがカットされてしまった。デベロッパであるGearbox Softwareとしては「ゲームのすべてを見せられない」措置に涙をのんできたわけで，今回の機能は，こうしたセンサーシップに対応する目的で実装されたものだろう。

　Borderlands 2は，惑星パンドラの支配を狙うハンサム・ジャックに，新たなヒーロー達が立ち向かっていくという内容になっており，豊富に用意された武器を集めたり，キャラクター成長させたりしていくRPG要素を巧みに取り込んだFPSとして制作が進められている。Borderlands 2の発売は，北米では2012年9月18日，日本では10月25日が予定されており，予約特典と初回特典も明らかになっている（関連記事）。
