「Borderlands 2」，DLC第2弾「Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty」が海外では早くも来週リリース

　2K Gamesは，DLC第1弾「Mechromancer」を前倒しリリースしたばかりの「Borderlands 2」（PC / PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360）において，早くも新たなDLC「Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty」を発売することを明らかにした。同DLCは各プラットフォームに向けて10月16日にリリース予定で，価格はPCおよびPS3版が9.99ドル，Xbox 360版が800マイクロソフトポイント。シーズンパスの購入者は無料で入手できる。


　本DLCは，プレイヤーが惑星パンドラの砂漠地帯「Oasis」を冒険し，女海賊スカーレット率いるバンディッド達と戦うというキャンペーンが追加される。スカーレットは，つば広帽やアイパッチ，そして左手にフックという，なんともステレオタイプなイメージを反映した海賊だが，アートスタイルはBorderlands 2らしい独特のものとなっており，本作の世界観に見事にマッチしている。本キャンペーンでは，砂の上を航行するホーバークラフトのような乗り物も登場するので，こちらにも注目したいところだ。


　開発元のGearbox Softwareの仕事の早さ，というか前もって用意されていた感もある矢継ぎ早なDLCのリリースは，ファンをさらに熱狂させるのに一役買いそうだ。
　なお，10月25日に発売される「ボーダーランズ 2」（日本語版）における「Captain Scarlett」の扱いに関しては，現時点では発表されていない。
