レゴゲームの最新作「LEGO The Hobbit」が2014年に発売。映画「ホビット 思いがけない冒険/竜に奪われた王国」をベースにした物語が描かれる模様

　Warner Bros. Interactive EntertainmentとTT Gamesは，レゴゲームのシリーズ最新作「LEGO The Hobbit」（PC/MAC/PlayStation 4/PlayStation 3/Xbox One/Xbox 360/Wii U/PlayStation Vita/ニンテンドー3DS）を2014年内に発売すると発表した。


　レゴゲームとは，両社が手がけることでお馴染みの，レゴブロックのフィギュア（ミニフィグと言う）が活躍するアクションアドベンチャーゲームのことだ。これまで「ロード・オブ・ザ リング」「バットマン」「ハリー・ポッター」といった人気映画とレゴブロックを掛け合わせた玩具/ゲームが発売され，シリーズ化されている。

　そこに新たに加わる今作は，2012年に発売された同名の玩具をゲーム化したもの。ビルボをはじめ，ガンダルフや，トーリン・オーケンシールド，ドワーリン，バーリン，ガラドリエル，エルロンドといったミニフィグ化したキャラクター達と共にアクションをこなしたり，パズルを解いたりしてゲームを進めていくという内容になる。

　ゲームのストーリーは，J.R.R.トールキン氏の小説を原作とする映画シリーズの第1部「ホビット 思いがけない冒険」および，第2部「ホビット 竜に奪われた王国」をベースに描かれる模様。また，映画は三部作となることから，今後も大きな展開があると期待できそうだ。
