「Windjammers 2」のリリースが2022年1月20日に決定。フライングディスクを投げて戦う“フライングパワーディスク”の続編

　Dotemuが開発中のアクションゲーム「Windjammers 2」の発売日が2022年1月20日に決定した。対応機種はPCおよびPlayStation 4，Xbox One，Nintendo Switchで，上位互換機能によりPlayStation 5，Xbox Series Xでもプレイ可能だ。発売と同時に，Microsoftのサブスクリプションサービス，Xbox Game Passにも登録される。


　またパッケージ版については，フランスのPix'n Loveと，北米のLimited Run GamesがPS4版とSwitch版をリリースすることが明らかになっている。通常版とコレクターズエディションが用意されており，12月17日に予約の受付を開始するとのこと。


　「Windjammers 2」は，データイーストが1994年にリリースしたアーケード向けゲーム，「フライングパワーディスク」（英題「Windjammers」）のIPを取得して制作が進められている作品で，タイトルどおり，フラインディスクを投げ合う見下ろし型視点のアクションゲームだ。簡単操作で複雑な攻防が楽しめ，スピード感あふれる展開や，スポーツ的な戦略性などから，海外での人気は依然として高い。
　「Windjammers 2」は，そんなオリジナル版の雰囲気はそのままに，新たなキャラクターやステージ，追加システムなど，大きくパワーアップしているとのこと。
　発表からずいぶん時間が経ってしまったが，ついに発売というわけで，気になる人は8月11日に掲載した記事などで予習をしておこう。
